Data Visualization Specialist

Job Description

The Data Visualization Specialist who has had experience as an employee or a contractor in a federal agency will assist the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client with the analysis and interpretation of datasets (financials, logistics/equipment, training). Using Tableau and/or Power BI, the specialist will create dashboards and reports, identifying trends that inform strategic business decisions.

Required Skills

Develop, interpret, and prepare recommendations regarding dashboards, procedures, and the organization’s data assessment, using commercially available data analysis tools and data visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and Minitab.
Experience working with commercially available data analysis tools and data visualization tools, including Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and SAS.
Solid understanding of the role of IT infrastructure, information systems, and data architecture in supporting data science and data management programs.

Job Duties

Design and develop dynamic dashboards/reports and interactive visualizations using various reporting components from multiple data sources.
Develop and design presentations, reports, and other deliverables to summarize findings for key stakeholders and executive leadership, communicating with both technical and non-technical team members.
Familiarity with other related government-wide data activities and implementation best practices.
Attend meetings, provide stakeholder input as needed, and communicate the status of changes to team members and leadership.

Experience and Education Requirements

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Data Visualization Specialist.
An associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Graphic Design is required.
A Tableau Certified Data Analyst certificate or a Power BI Data Analyst certificate is required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have previous experience as a contractor with or an employee of the federal government.

Work Location

100% Remote, providing support to the client site (Glynco, GA).
