MS Power Apps/Bi Developer (Junior)

Job Description

The Junior Power Platform Developer will assist a federal client’s team with the development, updating, testing and maintenance of MS Power Apps and MS Power BI tools, providing technical support to the federal client’s projects and programs. The junior developer will perform quality assurance testing on work products, assume ownership of business deliverables contents, and support all phases of business process modernization. The developer will use business applications and data visualization tools that rely on Microsoft’s Power Platform, and will apply foundational experience in Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate, in a data-driven environment.

Required Skills
  • Hands-on experience (3-5 years) developing, interpreting, and making recommendations on dashboards, procedures, and assessing data for an organization, using commercially available data analysis tools and data visualization tools, including PowerBI and Power Automate.
  • Familiarity with Power Virtual Agents.
  • Basic understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL), Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and data modeling concepts.
  • Exposure to Extract, Transfer, Load (ETL) processes and data warehousing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools and integration.
  • Skilled in Adobe Acrobat for document handling and Portable Document Format (PDF) workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Works effectively in team-based environments.
Desired Skills
  • Earned Microsoft PL-90 Certification (Core concepts of Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Dataverse)
  • Earned Microsoft PL-300, Data Analyst Associate Certification (Data modeling, visualization, and analysis using Power BI).
Job Duties
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and help translate them into technical solutions.
  • Help to integrate Power Platform tools with SharePoint, Dataverse, and other Microsoft services.
  • Support data modeling, DAX calculations, and report optimization.
  • Provide technical support and documentation for developed solutions.
  • Assist in applying changes submitted by team members, attend meetings, and provide regular status updates.
  • Develop and design presentations, reports, and other deliverables to summarize findings for key stakeholders and executive leadership, communicating with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Assist in building custom business applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven).
  • Assist in the development of interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Automate workflows with Power Automate to streamline business processes.
Experience and Education Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline.
  • Three (3) years of directly related experience.
Work Location
  • Remote work (telework) is allowed.
  • Occasional business trips to Glynco, Georgia, may be required.
Security Clearance Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
